The Benchmade Bugout has been an immensely successful design for the Oregon knife maker and the custom builder option has been quite popular with fans who want to build their own version of their favorite folder. Well, Benchmade is about to give builder a bunch of new options to take those Bugout builds to a whole new level and design a truly custom piece to their particular specs.
Take a look at the press release for just what you’ll have to pick from for your ultimate Bugout.
On Monday [June 14], Benchmade’s venerable Bugout will be receiving a handful of new material options through the Custom Knife Builder program. These new materials unlock the true ultimate-EDC potential of this model. On top of the existing options for a variety of thumb studs, liners, etc, enthusiasts will be able to option up to titanium or carbon fiber handles and a S90V or Damasteel Ladder patterned blade. With these new materials, there are now 497,760 different combinations that could be created, ranging in price from $175 -$525.
The Benchmade Bugout was originally designed as the ultimate lightweight folder for backpacking. The slim and minimalist design proved to be an absolute game-changer within the outdoor community, but quickly has earned its place as one of the best everyday carry models on the market. In August 2020, Benchmade added the Bugout to their Custom Knife Builder program, allowing consumers to purchase a one-of-a-kind combination of materials to best fit their needs and aesthetics. Now, almost a year later, the addition of more premium materials to the menu shows Benchmade’s commitment to continued innovation.
The Benchmade Custom Knife Builder is an easy-to-use online, interactive visualizer that shows exactly how combinations will look, including full 360-degree rotations with the knife both open and closed. Laser marking on either side (or both sides) of the blade is also possible through this system, creating a window for personalization WAY beyond the colors and materials. Add a name, a pattern or upload a unique image, the Customizer show an exact preview and allows for scale and rotational adjustments, so the final design is exactly what you want.
