You may or may not realize that Rock Island Armory is the world’s largest producer of 1911 pistols. That’s not all they do though, and their latest entry into the handgun world is a first for them, a striker fired pistol. While it seems like everyone makes a striker fired pistol these days, Rock Island is doing it a little bit different.
Rather than the usual polymer grip frame we see on most striker fired pistols Rock Island’s new STK100 uses an aluminum grip to add a bit more weight for recoil management, while still keeping the pistol light enough to carry comfortably. Take a look at the features and click on the link below for more details.
The STK100 has an aluminum grip to give this handgun enough weight to reduce felt recoil but still be comfortable to carry all day.
Chambered in 9MM, it has a 17-round capacity. Its textured grip is angled like a 1911 grip for greater control. It also has an optic-ready slide for easy addition of aftermarket accessories. Plus, an extended beavertail for comfort.
With the advantages of metal for the price of polymer, you’ll want to be sure to add this to your collection.
