I decided that I am going to hike up to the river and catch up on some reading. Today’s book will be SURVIVE!, the best seller from Les Stroud.
I grabbed my vehicle go bag, an OD green 5.11, 220-liter Morale Pack out of my Jeep Grand Cherokee and decided to do a quick pocket and gear dump. I fill up my generic metal water bottle that I got from my last trip to Puerto Rico.
Just incase it get dark later and I drop anything on my way home, I check the batteries in my Pelican glow in the dark 3310 flashlight. I love this light; it was inexpensive and it’s easy to find at night.
I also have two knives with me, my Stormtrooper Cerakoted Kizer Inversion, and my trusty C.U.M.A TA-RI with camo and custom sheath designed by yours truly and made by TOPS KNIVES.
I have my 5.11 CAMO BIFOLD Velcro wallet that has my ID in it so the cops can alert my wife in case I fall in the river and get eaten by oversized catfish.
Finally, my pistol of the day is my Smith and Wesson M&P .9MM. I love this gun; I traded a couple of knives for it about 3 years ago and couldn’t be happier.
As always, I have my keys, so I don’t get locked out when I get back.
